Tapping in to your power supply!

If you’ve ever owned or played an electric guitar then I’m sure you know all about amps! I mean at the least you know that you need an amp for your guitar to have any real sound! I mean you could buy any guitar you want but it’s useless without an amplifier! You see the way the guitar is set up and designed, it has these things underneath the strings that are called pickups. And well the pickups are kind of what gives the guitar the kind of tone it has (which is kind of a big deal)! I mean if you ask any guitarist they may tell you that the tone is everything, it’s what gives you the sort of smoothness and feel of the way it sounds. If you’ve got a guitar with a good tone you are already halfway there to getting the best sound and the ultimate use from your guitar!

However after your tone there is still one issue! Your amplifier or simply your amp for short. You can have all of the great tone in the world but if you don’t connect your guitar to that amp you can’t hear any of that smoothness! I mean it’s just the way that it’s designed.

Wow you know what? This sounds a lot like our connection to the Father! You see every believer is just like any guitar! Handcrafted for a purpose. Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above–spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” Our bodies are like the guitar but the tone comes from the pickups. That’s the holy spirit inside of you! The spirit determines the fruit you bare. This means what type of quality of person you are. Matthew 7:16-17 “By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.” Thankfully we believers bear good fruit from the holy spirit. WELL AT LEAST WE SHOULD!

Just like the guitar we need to be amplified, and the way the guitar gets the sounds that come from the pickups inside to come out is through its CONNECTION to the AMP! So what’s the amp? You’ve probably guessed it by now. That’s right, God the father! It is our connection with the Father that amplifies the effects of the holy spirit within us. Have you ever just felt dull in you spiritual life at times. Well usually that is because we have lost our connection to God! We’ve stopped getting into our word, we’ve stopped praying and seeking Him. Without that connection we can’t get that big sound from our tone that we may have been lacking. It is in God that we are able to fully project that tone (the fruit of the spirit) into the world and into our own lives!

So how does God amplify our tone in life? By giving us power and authority. Here in Philippians we are told about how God powers our guitar and amplifies it, so to speak.
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose–I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]” Wow, God not only supplies our needs but he powers them so that we can fulfill His purpose. I believe that when God has a plan for your life, he will equip you with the tools necessary to accomplish that plan, and fulfill your purpose. And he doesn’t just stop there, he then gives you enough strength and power to complete the task!

I think it’s safe to say that when God is in control I have the power to amplify my life. That means I have amplified love, amplified peace, amplified happiness, and amplified wisdom! Any area in your life can be amplified if you just reconnect with the Father! What areas in your life do you need God to amplify or strengthen? Comment below!
